I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxed Easter break with your families.
I firstly would like to say thank you for your patience and overwhelming support to the Norwood Football Club in these unprecedented times. This is the biggest challenge the footy club has faced in over 100 years and everything we are doing is ensuring the long-term financial viability of the Club and without your ongoing support, this would not be possible.
Although we are in very uncertain times, rest assured the construction of our new home, The Wolf Blass Community Centre is continuing full steam ahead. The building looks fantastic with all the different areas starting to take shape as you can see from the photos depicted below. Although not installed yet, you can see where the new bars and kitchens are going to be located and I can see these becoming the hubs where we will once again celebrate our wins and continue to build on the fantastic community we have within our Club.
The views from the Function Centre are breathtaking and no doubt the facility will be the envy of all other Clubs. In a recent walkthrough, I was very impressed with the way the building is coming together to meet our immediate and long-term needs. As the saying goes ‘good things come to those who wait’ and from what I have seen, great things will come from the long wait we have had to endure.
I know we all want to see footy and watch our beloved Legs winning matches again, however at this time I encourage you all to adhere to the social distancing protocols, look after yourself and take care of your health and wellbeing. We will be back bigger and better, and we want each one of you to be there alongside us. Fortis in Procella ….. Strength in Adversity!
We are still looking to raise money for the build so if you haven’t purchased a picket please contact the Club. For as little as $250 you can have your own piece of Norwood Oval forever ($200 is tax-deductible). To purchase a picket click here, or call the club on 8362 6278.
