NORWOOD could call upon promising young ruckman Henry Crauford for its Round Three clash with Sturt on Friday night.
With the Redlegs sweating on the fitness of key forwards Brady Dawe and Luke Surman, Coach Jarrod Cotton could gift Crauford his SANFL Statewide debut after a couple of strong performances in the Reserves.
The 21- year old collected 21 disposals against Centrals on Saturday, which included 27 hit outs and six clearances.
Norwood could also welcome back small forward Ed Smart after he missed Saturday’s clash with the Dogs. Smart suffered a foot injury towards the end of Norwood Round One match against Glenelg, however, will need to prove his fitness at training Wednesday night.
Running half-back Brodie Carroll did his chances of a senior call up no harm also. Carroll gathered 24 disposals including nine marks and six tackles against Centrals on Saturday.
Speedster Chris Olsson was good once again following a three-goal haul against Glenelg in Round One. Olsson managed to collect 20 possessions and kicked two goals against the Dogs on Saturday.
Cameron Taheny could also come into consideration at selection after a strong performance against Centrals. Taheny kicked a game high three goals, which included 18 disposals and nine marks.
Norwood is likely to also be without gun midfielder Matthew Nunn for another week. The speedy midfield is still ill and is unlikely to face Sturt on Friday night.
Norwood will face Sturt in Round Three of the SANFL Statewide Super League this Friday night at Coopers Stadium.
