Emerging forward Ben Jarvis has signed with Norwood for the 2022 SANFL season, becoming the third new signing for the Redlegs Men’s program.
Taken by Geelong at pick 48 in the 2017 AFL National Draft, Jarvis returns to The Parade with a point to prove after only managing one senior appearance at The Cattery.
The 21-year-old will add depth to Norwood’s forward half after spending most of his time at Geelong playing across half-forward. Jarvis’ clean hands and accuracy in front of goal, will no doubt excite the Norwood faithful as the Redlegs look to gain more firepower in attack.
Jarvis played eight VFL games in 2021, booting 16 goals whilst averaging 5.6 marks per game.
Football Services Manager, Rob Harding said he was delighted to see yet another junior product sign with the Redlegs for Season 2022.
“It’s great to welcome back another Eyre Peninsula boy like Ben back to the Parade in 2022,” said Harding.
“We obviously had great success with JK (Jacob Kennerley) coming back last season and saw the impact he made on the side immediately.
“I think Ben will provide a lot for our forward line as it is an area which we would really like to add to next year.
“With the acquisition of Ben, I think he will definitely add to that forward line mix, and we look forward to seeing what he can do in 2022.”
Jarvis told norwoodfc.frmdv.com he is excited to begin his SANFL journey.
“I’m really excited to be returning to Norwood in 2022,” said Jarvis.
“The facilities and the way the club has presented itself has been fantastic and the fact I have good mates here who I played junior football with just made the decision a lot easier.
“I’m really looking forward to round one next year and running out in front of a packed Norwood crowd wearing the red and blue.”
